gobble x nine (or actually 59).

for some reason, i always used to pride myself in not doing turkeys in art class for thanksgiving. i guess i assumed they were so cliche'.....oh well. gotta do the cliche' stuff every once in a while right? plus, i had a bazillion glue bottle toppers that were all nasty and needed to be used up on something. so we turned them into turkey beaks. of course. and tons of popsicle sticks--which i really can't stand by the way--so we turned them into feathers. and scrap cardboard-into bodies.....you get the idea.

Like you I am not a popsicle stick fan and have been giving them away to teachers because I have THOUSANDS of them from the previous art teacher...and I have been trying to wrap my head around a creative way to use them up...so I LOVE these! PLUS I have been cleaning glue bottles like crazy lately and throwing away old bottles! I guess I will start keeping the caps! Thanks for the GREAT recycling idea!!

Thanks for the great idea. I ended up doing something like this with my kids yesterday! They loved getting crafty! My principal came in at that time and was like "wow, I never see you doing anything like this"...but he liked it. The kids had a great time and they were all so happy to take them home! Thanks for posting this!

So GREAT! I've always shyed away from turkeys too, but I've been finding myself getting more in touch with my "crafty side" over the past couple years. Speaking of crafts....you have to check out comedian Amy Sedaris' new crafting book. It's called Simple Times. Very funny stuff!!!!
