non-abstract principles
My work here is marked by the centrality and dominance of space and structure, and the apparent absence of human life. It is about our consciousness of space, environment, the immediacy of the landscape and built environment upon our line of vision.
The apparent absence of human life is however a trick. Rather than re-present humanity in space, the photographs are composed so as to concentrate the eye into one visual direction, to see the image as one universal gaze. Rather than depict life, I want to invite it to the objects and their arrangements, to contemplate the construction of both civilisation and nature
