Spaxels Testflights for Rock in Rio 2017
One of the world’s biggest music festivals, Rock in Rio, contacted the Ars Electronica Spaxels (Spaxels stands for space pixels) for performances during the Rock in Rio Festival in September 2017. Between September 15 and the 24, the drone swarm will fly seven performances which will epitomize the values of the spectacle by means of dynamic pictures. In late March the Spaxels already made test flights that resulted in a teaser clip that was broadcasted on Brazilian TV. The flights were accompanied by music played by Symphony Orchestra of the Anton Bruckner Private University.
