Lådan/The box
Many imaginative architects have tried their hands on "compact living" solutions over the years.

One particular person who was early to the game (1941) was Ralph Erskine, doubling down by moving his family of four into the 21 m² house built by himself using mostly found or donated materials.

The original box which was erected in Lissma, south of Stockholm. When the Erskines moved to a bigger residence ("Villa Erskine") the box was used as a summer getaway and then eventually abandoned and demolished.

A replica was built on Lovön, in the vincinity of Villa Erskine in 1989 under supervision of Ralph himself. The photographs shown here are of the replica.
