The picture we waited 30 years to complete. (hi reddit!)

UPDATE 7/14/2011: I've gotten many, many requests for permission to use the photo, so instead of responding to each individual request, I've changed the license on this picture to Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs. This allows you to download it and share it with others as long as you attribute the photo appropriately and do not change it in any way or use it commercially.

Thanks for all the positive feedback. We are humbled by the response!

I am completely baffled by the worlds love for digital. These pictures at top are a prime example of films superiority, and there are still these lazy people who refuse to face the truth. Go spend thousands of dollars on washed out pictures. What a waste of effort and money. It took me two wasted trips across the country with thousands of washed out photos for me to see the light.Film For me forever! I'm just waiting for the world to figure it out again. But i wont hold my breath...

I like film too but digital photography is improving. I think Lumix is the best camera out there.

Looks like the son is wearing the same t-shirt. Did you save it for 30 years for this photo?

I followed the launches while i lived in FL. It is sad that the shuttle program has ended. We seriously need to get back into space.
