Stranger 57/100 - revisited

I decided to revisit my first stranger shot with my D610 after discussing the backlighting effects with some friends who are in this group.

You can find the original shot and background,

Stranger 57/100

The original shot submitted to the group was my fall back shot as the backlighting effect was not coming out the way I wanted. The colour version was not working for me and because it was the colour of the hair that attracted me in the first place, my stubbornness would not allow me to see that in black and white it came out very nicely as you can see here.

So why the change of heart? Well after discussing it with Peter, Colin, Barbara and Katya - I realised I was letting my ego get in the way: I was too invested in the type of shot I wanted to create. They all said that this was the best shot, I just need some time to realise that they were right :-)

I now think that this one is better, what do you guys think?
