Verena was full of personality and was well worth the long wait that KatyaPhotography007 and I had before someone came along. Along the Horse Stables part of Camden Market is the fantastic long wall which I wanted to use and get the depth of field fall off.
Originally I wanted someone with light coloured eyes because I had envisioned this as a colour portrait and thought the wall would help to bring out the eyes. When we finally saw Verena with her beautiful eyes and lovely smile I walking towards us with her friend, I knew she was the one I wanted for this portrait.
She agreed to take part and I tried two serious shots at first, this one being the second. In the first one her lips were closed, and I felt it didn't quite work as well as this one as it didn't feel like her. I thought that this one had a slightly more intimate feel too it and my choice of B&W was to compliment this. I find the hair falling down her eye a little distracting and should remember this in the future.
In fact she said she preferred more fun type shot, and made some really cool faces one of which I have posted in the comments (in colour so you could see what I originally had in mind).
Verena was lovely and is from originally from Germany. She, like a number of strangers I have met, was not completely happy with her looks. In this case she felt that she had put on weight, which as you can see from the pictures is absolutely ridiculous.
Anyway, thanks very much Verena for being a part of my project. It was fun chatting with you.
