Army Veterinarians’ exercise offers free pet care

Capt. Joshua Powell, an Army veterinarian with 218th Medical Detachment, 47th Combat Support Hospital, 62nd Medical Brigade, 593rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command, performs a spay surgery on a female canine patient as part of the units field training exercise Oct. 16, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash. The exercise not only gave Soldiers hands-on proficiency training, but also provided their clients surgical services they may not have otherwise be able to afford. (US Army photo by Staff Sgt.
