Spent my St. Patrick's Day sober and photographing an abandoned silk mill in Western Maryland. Six hours of driving, four hours of shooting, and 220+ pictures. After a quick look at the shots - surprisingly, I'm actually liking the majority of them and don't seem to be as quick on the delete button as usual. Maybe shooting in lead-based paint and mold suits me...

The place was absolutely amazing. Hopefully you don't get tired of seeing it, because there will be a lot of shots. I'll try to break them up with shots from Savannah and other events as I go.

/Hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend. Happy St. Patrick's Day y'all.

Looks like it was a phenomenal outing and well worth it. You probably didn't miss much more than some puking by celebrating in this fashion. (And unfortunately, it would be just green and not rainbow today.)

      Awesome!
Those tags are phenomenal. (The ones in the shot, the actual 'tags' are very despcriptive though) :D

Don't forget the asbestos. Nicely captured.

      - This place was pre-asbestos. Just good ol' fashioned lead paint and mold. And rotting floor boards on the 3rd floor because the roof is horribly damaged.

You've captured the distressed and aged look of the place very nicely!
