A repost from the archives for International Talk Like Pirate Day.
Now with an English to Pirate translator: www.talklikeapirate.com/translator.html
A shot from The Pirates' House restaurant in Savannah, Georgia.
And a tasty pirate's cocktail - Savannah Tea - recipe:
In a cocktail shaker combine:
1 part sweet tea vodka (Sweet Carolina is my fave)
1 part peach schnapps
1/2 part sours mix
fill shaker with ice, shake to combine, and pour into pint glass
top glass off with Coca Cola (I'm not generally a Coke drinker, but in this case Pepsi and Dr. Pepper do not make adequate substitutions. Also - do not use Diet Coke or Coke Zero.)
Loved this ship sign and bell outside The Pirates' House restaurant.
Just wish you could read the whole thing:
______ Ancient Way.
Good Food Awaits You
Good Wine...Good Cheer
and all the Romance
It's a bit of a cheesy place, they really play up the pirate theme with an employee actually walking around in character checking on tables throughout the meal. Tasty food and yummy cocktails. And allegedly a rum swilling ghost (Captain Flint of Treasure Island fame). It was also the site of the first experimental garden in America and includes the oldest building in Georgia (built in 1734).
The more you know: The Pirates' House history.
