The Ancient Terraces of Gunung Padang, Cianjur
Gunung Padang is one of prehistoric sites in Indonesia. It is located near the city of Cianjur and consists of a hill that has been treated with ancient retaining walls on its sides and ascending terraces on its top.

What drew me and my archaeology and culture enthusiast group to this place is the recent researches that reveal its importance in the world. Not only does Gunung Padang cover a site area of 3 hectares, it has been discovered to contain a submerged stone structure, yet to be fully excavated, dating from 10.000 BC.

Apart of that, Gunung Padang is a very serence place where one can appreciate the surrounding nature and enjoy meditating as what a lot of Westerners do here.
