The ‘Newbery Diagram’ Postal System of Dancing for the ‘Fox Trot’
On 5 December 1922, Ernest Newbery of the Newbery Institute of Dancing copyrighted the ‘Newbery Diagram’ Postal System of Dancing for the “Fox Trot”, “Two Step”, “The Waltz” and “One Step”.
These booklets showed which steps each partner in the dance needed to make by a diagram, so they could learn the dance at home. The images above/below are an example of the Fox Trot for both partners.
