Fortune telling Anglicans
The Anglicans of Mataura sought help from the spirit world on 28 October 1911.
But the idea of a fortune teller at large at the church bazaar won no support from officialdom and the proposal was rejected.
Shown here is the letter from the St Saviour's Anglican Church Committee asking permission to bring in a fortune teller.
