Found this old house next to the castle entrance and decided to check it out. There was nothing of interest on the inside at all, had to hurry to get back to the bus and leave this area of Romania.
This is the Villa Caprita, former home of Mme Irina Procopiu, lady-in-waiting to Queen Marie of Romania in the1920s and an important society hostess at the time. Looks very much like Ion Mincu's architecture - or certainly inspired by him. Mme Procopiu died in 1954, probably in prison; the house would have been confiscated after the War. Very sad to see it in such a state.
