DGJ_4826 - Louisbourg Lighthouse

The lighthouse constructed by the French in 1730 at Louisbourg was the first one established in Canada, and the second on the North American continent.


This is the third lighthouse built at this site. It was built in 1923, a year after the second light was destroyed by fire.


Location: Northern entrance to the harbour.
