This wild flower was taken at Cape Split, Nova Scotia, Canada

 

Red trillium, also known as Stinking Benjamin, has one flower, with an unpleasant odor, rising on a stalk above the leaves. The flower is about 6.5 cm wide (2.5 inches), with three maroon or reddish brown petals. It flowers from April to June. The plant reaches 20-40 cm in height (8-16 inches).
