Storms - 15/10/2011 (vi)
Gear: Canon 5D Mk II | Canon 17-40
On Saturday, I decided to head out with Mel Sinclair to find some storms out West. Predictions had been for a severe day. We saw a front coming from Warwick and decided to head that way using the radar only - by luck we decided that going over Cunningham's Gap would be a bad choice and instead headed around Lake Moogerah. Here it caught up to us and it intensified over the mountains. Staying well back we decided to head away from the storm and watch from a distance. It continued on its path to eventually come straight through the Brisbane CBD where it dumped heavy rain, hail and produced a nice rainbow afterwards.
This is the last image in my series of storm photos from last weekend - feedback on these has been fantastic so far so I'm really pleased to share another one of these with you.
Here the storm is just about to engulf the Brisbane CBD, I just had to share what the sky went like when it was almost upon us where we were safely under a pagoda @ Mt Coot-tha.
