Fading into the Night
The sun sets late in Jasper this time of year. There's still lingering light around 11pm, and I set off on post-dinner adventures every night, usually to return around 10:30 with plenty of light to see my way around our campsites.
This particular night, I rode my bike to visit a couple of lakes. There's nothing like biking down the Icefields Parkway in the evening. No cars, no people. Mountains, many the size of Hood or Adams, piled on top of each other. Everything is epic. Stormfronts roll over the snowy peaks, huge shafts of sunlight hit the forest between clouds, little bits of the mountains are illuminated in pinks and reds and crazy purples. The water is always a deep turquoise. What a place.
