    Descending from Mong down to Khumjung/Khunde is treacherous if you take the high route in mid-winter. The steps are really really steep, and filled with ice and snow. No injuries on this day, though. Helen took this one.

      This is an awesome route. I went up & down it this spring, it was tricky enough in good weather, I'd hate to have to do it when it's all iced up - I'd send up a climbing Shepa to fix some ropes and use jumars & ice tools!

      Yeah, I realise now that we should have spread out more.
      If someone had slipped, we'd have all ended up at the bottom.

      Could have done with some crampons ...
