Vampiric creature from the Southeastern climes. Became an (semi)mortal enemy of Cletheia Kohlschrein after The red headed wünderkind nearly wiped out the creature's clan. She/it cannot stray far from her/it's resting grounds, but through the power of suggestion, venomous, fanged, and winged minions venture north, with malicious purpose.

This is neat. Ever read the Hellboy story by the same name? It's lifted from the same folktale but the actual Penanggalan is a young girl... creepy.

Yeah, I am a Hellboy fan and it was nice to see the creature in Mignola-scope. I have been a fan of this particular type of vampire for quite some time. Here in Hawaii we are lucky enough to have several cultures worth of horrifying demons and ghosts!

Tee Hee. Kohlschrein definitely was inspired in some part by her. I take a lot from a lot of places. i really want to return to this theme at some point in the future.
