Royal Air Force - TNA AIR 5/1155 (Yarmuk River railway)
This set shows a series of photographs taken by the Royal Air Force of the Yarmuk River railway.

This line descended around 700 meters from Dera'a in Syria to Samakh railway station by the Sea of Galilee, and formed part of the Dera'a to Haifa Jezreel Valley railway. It consisted of over 14 main bridges and a number of tunnels, and now runs through and along the borders of Jordan, Israel, Syria and the Golan Heights.

These photographs where taken in 1933, after the railway east of Samakh had fallen into the territory of French mandated Syria.

These photographs are now held by The National Archives, London.
