Geotrygon montana montana
Cristalino Jungle Lodge, Mato Grosso, Brazil.
The most common and widespread of the quail-doves, found from Mexico to Argentina. Despite this fact, it is exceptionally difficult to photograph. This bird came in to an artificial bathing pool near the lodge, but it was nearly dark at the time, and I had to use my spotlight to illuminate the area. I'd prefer to use a shot in natural light, but none of those came out sharp enough.
