Tolima Blossomcrown

Anthocephala berlepschi

Ukuku Rural Lodge, Tolima, Colombia.

Male. Blossomcrown was split a few years back, see SACC prop 654. The main plumage difference is the color of the tip of the tail (white in Tolima, buff in Santa Marta). This bird only came in late in the afternoon and never perched where we could find it - there was not enough light for me to get a sharp flight shot.
