Palouse Panoramic

After photographing this beautiful tree from halfway up Steptoe Butte, Justin Reznick & I decided to go for a drive and work out how to get to this hill for a unique viewpoint. Luckily we left half the group on top of the hill and they could see us on the road and tell us where to park and begin to hike in.

It was still a big trek, the light was changing fast and we wanted this low angled light to illuminate small sections of the landscape, especially this awesome little tree. I was exhausted when we got here, we'd been up since two hours before sunrise and this image was made just an hour before sunset. We made the images we were after and ran back to the car to get right back up to the top of the Butte for sunset which was also beautiful.

I absolutely love this location and cant wait to get back here!

I have got tons of images lying around at the moment so will try and post as many as possible over the next few days.
