Th-Th-Th-That's All Folks! [52/52]

"Th-Th-Th-That's All Folks!" Oh Porky you pig, you slay me.

Today marks the completion of my 52-week self portrait project.

(Yes, this was taken in the middle of the street, and no I am not photoshopped in, haha. The backlight from the cars headlights provided me with an unintentional rim light making me look super crisp on the edges)

One year ago from today I had decided to begin a photography project that would accomplish a couple of things. I wanted to become more familiar with photography, and "the strobist way." I also wanted an interesting way to document, and express myself during my weeks in the upcoming year. However, the primary reason for wanting to push this project forward was to further an understanding of myself, for myself.

Throughout my installments, I've done my best to introduce to you all some of the significant people around me in my life. Whether you were one of those who have been following me regularly during this project (you know who you are), or someone who simply stopped in now and then, I surely hope you have gotten to know me. And not just what I look like, and what I like to do; I aimed to convey to people what my life is like, and what some of my priorities, and thoughts take form as. I did try to provide you all with an insight into my mental workings through the descriptions of my photos. There are some people who have sent me private messages saying they know me pretty well off of just the collective descriptions of my installments. And this makes me happy.

It is amazing what this project has done to give scale to this past year. This past year has had it's ups and downs, highs and lows. I've set new ambitions, and gone to new places. This project entails all of that, and then some. Upon looking at all of these photos, it really does scare me to think about, and realize how quickly one year can go by.

And at end of the day year, I've got 52 pictures of myself. And not just any old "MySpace" (who uses this anymore anyways?) type of pictures. Actually, I've got ...

12 pictures with something on my head ...

3 pictures with food on my face ...

27 pictures with glasses on ...

5 with a plaid/checked piece of clothing ...

38 pictures taken with off camera (strobist) lighting ...

25 pictures with no glasses on ...

21 pictures with a short sleeved shirt on ...

11 pictures of me sitting on something ...

2 pictures of me in mid-air ...

3 pictures with a blue tee shirt on ...

13 with a white shirt ...

14 full body, head to toe, pictures ...

3 pictures taken after the sun has gone down ...

2 pictures involving a knife ...

9 pictures involving food items ...

1 picture taken with a cell phone ...

11 with a sweater or jacket on ...

3 pictures involving me reading something ...

4 black & white images ...

4 pictures with my hand touching my head ...

2 pictures with earbuds or headphones on ...

1 picture without a shirt on ...

14 images taken with natural light ...

4 pictures with something in my mouth ...

5 pictures of me in a park ...

It's been a fun, and great project. I've learned a lot about photography, and learned a lot even about myself along the way. I also want to thank everyone for all of your support, kind words, feedback, critique, and thoughts all throughout the duration of my project! I surely hope we continue to inspire one another and learn from each other.

With that said ...

ANTHONY, OUT!

Oh ... and you'd be very hard pressed to believe that this is the last you will see of me ;)
