My Torch for Winter Olympics 2010
You Must - I beg - You Must see On White
As you all know the winter olympics is kicking off this friday at Vancouver, BC which is just a couple of hours from where I live. I would love to go there and watch a couple of games. Lets see if I will be able to make it there.
So back to the picture, I wanted to do something in line for the Olympics and was thinking pretty hard to come up with a picture for the olympics. I finally decided on an idea and started shooting for the same. I wanted to something with the smoke but did not have the Olympic torch on my mind when I started. During the shooting I saw this shot in the LCD and bingo, I immediately pre-visualized this final shot in my mind and was very happy with the outcome.
580 EX II on the left of the smoke with black cards on either side to avoid spill. I used Canon T1i and 100mm macro lens for this shot. Camera was handheld. I took the picture in Photoshop and inverted the picture and used masking and saturation tools to get this final shot.
Please see here for the detailed tutorial on how to do smoke photography.
