Etjai - Mon collecting cans and plastic bottles

PHNOM PENH, CAMBODIA – DECEMBER 6 : Thousands of etjais work in Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, pulling their two-wheels cart around the city to purchase recycling goods such as plastic and glass bottles, cans, cardboard, aluminium and other recycling goods and sell them back to collection centres, making a benefit of 10-20%. Nom, 35 year-old and mother of 5 children, is one of them and works every morning from 6am to 1pm to earn an average of 5,000 to 10,000 riels a day (1 dollar = 4,000 riels). Nom and her family are part of the people who were evicted from the Bodang Village Building and relocated in a slum of the Dangkao district in the Andong Area, 1h15 away from Phnom Penh.
