A pan showing the entire summit 'crater'. Fresh cinder cones dot the erosional lanscape. It is not a volcanic crater or caldera per se, but rather a bowl formed by headwater erosion from opposite slopes meeting in the middle. Clouds pour in through the resulting openings: Ko'olau Gap, left, and Kaupo Gap, right rear.
