Nthabiseng with Missy, one of CLAW’s re-homable dogs. Nthabiseng was one of the first youngsters to participate in the CLAW Saturday Sessions when she joined as part of the Khulisa Crime Prevention Initiative. Khulisa diverts youth from the criminal justice system by providing alternatives to formal imprisonment. In 2007 it began bringing young offenders to participate in activities at CLAW. The Saturday Sessions have been extended to include youth at risk from a variety of communities. The young people take part in a variety of activities including walking and grooming dogs, training dogs, cooking lessons and craft work.
