      I think it's a bit wrong to include PoEAA in the java stack. Those patterns apply universally... and rubyists' favorite pattern, ActiveRecord, is found in the pages of that book.

      there was also a video on youtube with tones of jars and hibernate at the java table... I think I'm in love with two languages but the purposes are a lilttle different at each side.

      its not Java vs ruby here. Its Java Frameworks vs Rails.

      For all you rails bozos check out play framework. It beats rails even in terms of performance by huge margins. That is true conparison of java vs Ruby
