Traditional English Bow-top horse-drawn wagon

 

 

 

 

There is a photo of the beauttifully decorated interior of this wagon in my photostream. Living wagons began to be used by travelling showmen in the 1820s and from the 1850s they were adopted by Romanies (Gypsies).

    I remember these wagons camped in the woods when I was at school in 1948. Romany' or Gipsy caravans I think they were called.
