Red Moon in the Morning....

    Newer Older

Scopers take warning!! Hey, no light with an Eclipse??? How's a digiscoper suppose to "shoot the moon" like that??? Did the best I photo show the Eclipse descending and I had a tad bit of light to raise the shutter speed and lower the ISO.

Super way to start the morning...what a beautiful sight it was!

APO LEICA Televid 77 spotting scope, Leica 32X fixed lens, Kowa TSN-DA3 Universal Mount System, Manfrotto Carbon Fiber Tripod,Manfrotto 501 head and a Nikon Coolpix P6000 = digiscoping.

Moon Eclipse over the Ocala National Forest, Florida (cold 24 degree F, hand held camera....shakin' all over!)

Please visit my other site that displays my DSLR work. Thanks!

Had a good view of it here in Palm Beach. None of my shots came out this nicely, though.

Fantastic shot of the moon. I missed it. Couldn't get my lazy self out of bed. :-(
I don't recall seeing too many ducks on Merritt Island. Saw a whole flock of American Avocets at Black Point Drive and there were a few ducks, Hooded Merganser there as well, but they were out of reach for me.

Might not have been the light you wanted, but you surely worked your magic with what was available, Merry Christmas my friend Angie in da woods

Its Duck season on Merritt Island, so until the 1st of the year they are in hiding.

Doesn't it go a good colour - always makes me think of that line in the Chesterton poem about the donkey: "... some moment when the moon was blood ..."

I tried digiscoping a total eclipse in Mar-07 (max totality ~23:00) but didn't get anything as good as these - not enough ISO in the little SONY I used at that time and 'scope almost vertical - but as you write, great fun trying.

      Good shooting in 2011.
