I think I really lucked out with this one. The background and lighting were absolutely perfect for the lovely Mary Poppins! :)

No kidding Angela. The lighting is perfect. I can never get a decent pic of Mary because her hat creates such a bad shadow. But the conditions were just right for this shot.

Angela, this is truly a gorgeous photo of a gorgeous lady. The Disneyland cast members who portray cartoon characters - Ariel, etc. - do a terrific job, but we readily accept the fact that they are actors taking the parts, "cosplay" if you will. This "Mary Poppins" is lovely as well, but because the original movie was 90% live action, one can't help comparing her to the one and only Julie Andrews, and thinking she only takes the silver medal in spite of her own best efforts and those of the very talented (and well-funded) Disney costuming and styling folks. Thanks for sharing these photos and showcasing your sewing skills and your own home-grown princess. (I think she and our granddaughter-princess would get along just fine.) It took this old baby boomer nearly 30 years to fulfill my wish to get there - from the time Disneyland was first promoted on the original TV show in the mid-50s until I made it in 1981 - and it was absolutely everything I'd hoped it would be (especially Main Street USA, the jungle boat ride, the trains and the cast members on those little canal boats that circle the miniature village). Given the opportunity, I'd go back tomorrow!
