As the sun gets into its stride for another day, the buildings of Coventry get together for a group shot (clockwise from left) this Ikea is the only city centre store in the entire chain, it has a multi storey car park incorporated into the design as well. The 115 foot high Glass dome of West Orchards Shopping Centre is visible in the lower right. Whilst at 223 feet tall the 16 storey Mercia House is on the right hand side of the frame, built in 1964 it has a mix of one bedroom and studio flats. The large brown and grey building at the rear is the Ramada hotel again standing over 190 feet it was originally built as an office block in 1979 called Burlington House before being taken on by British Telecom and renamed British Telecom House. Eventually they vacated and it lay empty for some years before being converted into a hotel in or around 2006
