These Monsters Walk Amongst Us

Newer Older

Hoping to win back my daughter's affections with this one. Until now she's always preferred lempkin's photos to my own!

Thanks Jen and Gothamist for the link!

I'm always amazed at what you catch on the streets of Manhattan.

Agreed! Check out the Elmo too. lol. Megadeth's still popular amongst the kids? Anyway, you seem to be getting more comfortable with the (googly) eye contact shots. Nicely done.

Great catch - you never know who you'll see on the streets of New York.

OH MY GOSH! I saw Bugs two weeks ago!

And RGP has seen Elmo and Bugs a few times!

  5. Arciteka 84 months ago | reply

That is too funny. Surely a sight to see. It is not everyday you see Elmo walking the streets of NYC.

I've seen this guy around, too! Well, at least I'm assuming it's the same person.

The funny thing about the guy in the corner giving me the "busted!" look is that he seemed to be completely oblivious to the presence of the large red furry monster. I took a whole set of images, and this, the last one, is the only one in which his face has any expression at all, and only because he's wondering what I'm doing with the camera.

The first pic of the sequence amuses me (click for bigger)..

    oblivious guy

LOL, that's a fun street scene! I do find that the guy looking into the camera is somewhat distracting as his eye contact draws attention from the Elmo IMHO.
Seen on your photo stream. (?)

That first picture is hilarious. So true, how do you not notice a big red furry monster walking beside you.?

This is an AWESOME capture!!!!! And he SHOPPED too! Looks like a Children's Place bag. So funny...especially the oblivious people walking around him. No one is looking at Elmo with a quizzical look. They're all walking like its an every day thing that Elmo walks the streets of NYC. =)

LOL! That is hysterical! And just sooo New York too. No one even notices him! I'm guessing that this one has moved to the #1 spot on your daughter's favorites list. Easily! LOL! Great catch.

Seen in my contacts' photos. (?)

the shopping bag says "TIPS" the idea is you take a picture with this gypsy and you give him money. There used to be a lot around rocafeller plaza now I se this one all around sixth avenue.

Say it ain't so, Armchair! Is Bugs a phony too? Suddenly my photo title is taking on a more sinister meaning...

The small pic is great--literally looks like no one gives a __ about the large red monster next to them. I LOVE the symmetry in expression of the man and Elmo, as someone mentioned above. From this view it looks like the man is sticking his tongue out in the same way as Elmo! Hilarious! And congrats on making the Gothamist page! (:

I love it!!! And I enjoy taking shots at full speed in this kind of situation. People think your are a pro and there must be something big going on.
