    Posee un tamaño de hasta 60 cm. de diámetro. En los individuos de menos de 3 cm no se aprecia la banda violeta y en el centro las gónadas forman un cuadrado. Junto a la Cotylorhiza tuberculata, se trata de una de las mayores medusas de nuestras costas.

    Constituye una verdadera plaga en el litoral del Mediterraneo, debido al aumento de temperaturas y a la desaparición de sus depredadores como son la tortuga marina y el pez luna.

    Su picadura produce un picor intenso.

      It's so beautiful. I love the purple and the iridescent, almost electrical looking veins in it.

      Yes James jajaja God is everywhere, is not unbelievable an animal beeing 97% water could be so beautiful? and dangerous! this is almost an underwater macro :P
