Portland Head Light
This was taken in Portland, ME which is actually several hours south of Acadia National Park on the coast (obviously).
We had rather bland weather every day we were there, so I made the call to run south and at least pick up some variety in the scenery since the weather was content with staying the same. It paid off! This was by far, the best sunset we had on the trip. It was gorgeous….
There was a little bit of climbing/hiking involved with getting this image which I absolutely love. I think it makes the memory of it all THAT much better knowing you had to work a little for it.
I have never seen so many photographers in one spot like there were at this park. But, when my friend and I decided to climb out on the rocks, they were pretty much empty! In fact, I think only 2 other photographers came out while we were there. Anyways, I think the angle really paid off.
I have this image as a normal crop as well, but there was something dynamic about a panoramic crop that I just couldn't resist.
Like all my images, this is available for sale. Please let me know if you are even remotely interested.
