Recovering dry eyes (2)

Tested some older specimens. This Cicindela (West African species) was kept dry for more than 15 years.

Not a terrific recovery, some traces are still visible. The stack in picture B was taken 10 minutes after applying 10% ammonia. A longer period could eventually give a better result.

Notice some color shift under the eye. Not sure if this is due to a chemical reaction. It is probably due to saturation of the integument and subsequent change in its optical properties.
