Artist-in-Residence Work at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center
Ananda Leeke loves the weekends because they offer her a chance to work as an artist-in-residence for Smith Center for Healing and the Arts at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. She shares her creative gifts as a poet, writer, and artist with wounded warriors and their families, military staff, and civilian hospital staff. It's a creative playground that she gets paid to play in! What an AWESOME job!

Leeke has been working as an artist-in-residence for Smith Center since 2002. This year marks her 10th anniversary. What a blessing!

NOTE: The collages and wire sculptures featured in the photos were created by Leeke and Walter Reed patients and staff.
