Okay, first of all, let me introduce my long-time Supermodel friend, Leandra. This girl has graced NYC's Fashion runways and rocked countless editorials. She's even modeled for David LaChapelle and is featured in one of his books!
When Leandra told me she'd be in town this week, I immediately jumped on the opportunity to photograph her (again). I wanted to try a little reverse engineering from that photo I described in my last self-portrait. There, I said I'd try a large softbox after I had mixed results with a beauty dish. But after testing a few shots, I realized the ringflash was the way to go. It eliminates all unwanted shadows and produces a nice, even light. Mind you, I use ringflash sparingly. It's gimmicky and gets old really fast. But that halo is pretty cool!
While the photograph looked pretty hot straight out of the camera, I'm still not over my obsession with the vivacious SNL stills. A LOT of Photoshop went into this image. I strongly debated whether to upload the image "as is" from my camera or this edited version and finally decided on this one. Maybe I'll try just a few more. ;)
