      So, just how long did he work at Disney? Did he work at MGM just before this? (Symphony in Slang, etc.)

      I'm not sure of his exact start date, but it was somewhere around '34-35, perhaps even earlier. As soon as he started, he got some disease and was out for about three years. When he recovered, he came back in the late-30s and went into Ward Kimball's unit where he animated for much of the 1940s. There was a period in the late-'40s and early-50s, when he left Disney and worked briefly, as you say, at MGM and at Ray Patin Productions. Also, around 1955, he left Disney again to work at John Sutherland Productions. But he was at Disney for the better part of twenty years, until he was let go in Sept. 1959.
