A Micro-mitigation project in Dien Hong Commune, funded by the American Red Cross, is helping improve lives by redirecting waters during flood season. In this commune, 600 households are within flood range of river. Here, Nguyen Thi Be, 34, stands with one of her two children in front of the project. "When the floods came before, the water was so strong they could make walls collapse, injure people, and destroy houses," she said. "Now I feel safer."
