World AIDS Day 2012 in Vietnam
On December 1, 2012 the Vietnam Red Cross celebrated World AIDS Day, collaborating on the event with the National University, Vietnam Network of Youth Prevention HIV/AIDS and National Network of MSM. The event was supported with funding from the American Red Cross, MTV and IFRC and included theater performances, songs, dance and a drag queen show. Around 3,000 people participated in the event, focused on promoting HIV testing in higher risk groups. The Vietnam Red Cross has a strong HIV/AIDS program, working with MSMs, drug users and families of people living with HIV to help prevent infection, care for the sick and eliminate stigmas.
