Ice Maiden

Camera: Nikon D300

Exposure: 0.02 sec (1/50)

Aperture: f/4.5

Focal Length: 35 mm

A rather obscure shoot this one. It's a concept I've had for nearly 1 year now.

It took an hour to set up, 15 minutes to shoot and 5 minutes to edit in CS4.

It was minus 20. Yes, -20 degrees, so kudos to the beautiful Danielle from Model Mayhem #1462589 for braving the ice winds and snow.

The lamps were from Ikea lit by SB600's at 1/64 power.

One SB800 camera left to light up Danielle.

I (or rather she) placed little led fairy lights under her dress which I powered with my field battery pack. I wanted it to be fairy tale like.

I'm not mega happy with the result. It doesn't match what I had in my head, though I'm pleased with the image overall.

So, 4 lights to juggle here, fading ambient light, tree lights, model light, and fairy lights.

I'm the Ice Maiden

I think perhaps you like being unhappy

I'm the Ice Maiden - The limit of your dreams

All those nights I dreamt of you

I wonder where they've gone

You're the Ice Maiden
