foliage hat finished!

    Newer Older

i bound off my foliage hat on thursday night but it was too tight! i talked to debbie at the fiber gallery about it today. she suggested binding off with a bigger needle... and now the hat fits on my head. yay! my first hat - first time using dpns and circular needles as well as my first simple lace pattern.

    i used malabrigo chunky yarn.

Congrats! SO cute! and love the green.

Some kinds of bind-offs are more flexible than others. For edges that need to be stretchy, I like Elizabeth Zimmermann's sewn cast-off from Knitting Without Tears. (I bet there are tutorials online.) :)

flint knits - thanks for the elizabeth zimmermann suggestion! knitting without tears sounds great - i was very close to tears when the hat wouldn't fit on my head :-)
