Meet my new dreads, Flickr friends. I love love love them. I wish I had more pictures to share but the sky started pouring a while ago. Hopefully a few others turned out. I'll post more soon.

So I did this yesterday. It took 4 hours, and I used multiple methods to achieve my dreads. My hairdresser separated and backcombed my roots, my mom, sister, friend, and I all twisted and ripped, and then we rolled them when we applied my homemade vegan wax (unfortunately, not homemade by me - I bought this from a woman in Colorado through eBay). I did make my locking accelerator though: sea salt, lemon juice, and water in a spray bottle.

wow! I kinda wish I'd have the guts to do this but I'd soooo get "the look" from upwards of a dozen people I know... oh well.

      Thanks!
and if you think it's worth it, then do it! It's your hair, not theirs, right? and once people find out you wash them regularly they are a bit more accepting. :)

I had one, and I used it to pick up all my hair up in a ponytail and stuff like that! I really miss it.
      Yours look fantastic! :D

Pretty shot. Did you have to cut them out???

    11. Alyssa Jiosa 44 months ago | reply

No, I still have them now. But when I'm finished, if they aren't completely locked up, I could detangle them (painstakingly, it'd take hours) but my hair would be damaged and broken. You have to leave some length at the roots, so when I do cut them, I'll just be sporting a pixie cut until my hair grows back out again.

I couldn't imagine detangling them. You would need gallons of detangler and leave in conditioner XD I think you can sport a pixie cut. You have the facial structure for it. :)
