Latest kinetic model

This is my most recent exploration of new ways to use our 3D printer in the Digital Media Center at University of Wisconsin - Madison. The screw rotates and moves the slider along the grooves. the models come from The Kinetic Models for Design Digital Library. I cropped out a big piece of the flange supporting the model which had a lot of text with the attributions to Cornell University. I cropped that off, not to hide the creators, but because it doubled the volume of the print and that triples the price to print it. This one is not perfect. There is a missing gear on the end to help turn it, but I was impatient and in my rush broke it off, but it is still really interesting. There is a video the piece moving on youtube (Video of kinetic model)
