Inside the Mezquita-Catedral de Córdoba

Construction started in 784 and continued until 987. This structure is 180 x 130 metres and is supported by 856 columns placed on thin slabs of lead to mitigate earthquakes. Even though I had seen pictures ahead of my visit, I was in awe of the size and beauty of this place.

It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
