Vintage Bicentennial Ball Jar in Blue

This beautiful Ball Jar was made to celebrate the Bicentennial in the U.S.

The jar glass is a blue, and there is a glass lid that is fastened in place with wire. The words "Ball Ideal" are on one side, and on the other is an eagle imprint on one side with the words "Bicentennial Celebration 1776 - 1976."

According to an article titled "How to Date Ball Fruit Jars" by Bob Clay, Ball contracted with Wheaton Glass to manufacture these jars in 1975, 1976 and 1977. They are replicas of older Ball Ideal jars.

This particular jar was made in 1975, as it has "75" embossed into the base.
