As an Arabian owner and shower, Ive come across some nasty Arabs too but its mostly because of the way they were handled, not the horses fault. Most Arabs I know are wonderful to be around. As far as the dog, I had a two year old Arab stud colt I raised from a foal and, a stranger came by to do the same - take some quick pics - without permission - and with their dog who went into the paddock, bit my colts rear leg, and now no one can get near that leg without him getting panicked. He was a farriers dream before, now it takes forever to calm him when trying to get around that leg. So please, keep your dogs leashed when around someones horse you dont know, or on someone elses property!!! Thank you.

Battaniya - agreed, just like dogs it is usually due to the way they have been treated or the experiences they have had. This guys was lovely, he just didnt like dogs. My dog grew up walking through horse paddocks so I had taught her a healthy respect of them and she never approaches them and was always under full control. The only problem I ever had was with a horse that came cantering up from the far end of the paddock to have a go at my dog who was right beside me the whole time. But I certainly wouldnt recommend the average dog owner walk in horse paddocks. A knowledge of horses, dogs, and control of your own dog are all necessary!

What a beauty! Reminds me of my Icarus. I loved him to bits. I agree with one of the commenters about how horses were treated. We had to get a lawyer involved with equine law to get help for Icarus, which is how we ended up with him. It's a long story, but the point was he had a feisty temperment as a result of mistreatment. We got him trained well in the end, though. I miss him.
